This event is a combination of a heritage walk and book discussion. We discuss the history of Indraprastha College of Women, the first women’s college in Delhi, through a visit to the College, and discussion of the book Women, Education and Politics: The Women's Movement and Delhi's Indraprastha College.

The book written by Meena Bhargava & Kalyani Dutta traces the development and progress of the education of Indian women and their role in national politics in the early twentieth century through a case study of Indraprastha College. Indraprastha College is the only college in Delhi University to create its own museum. We will visit the College and its Museum & Archives. The discussant will be Dr. Meena Bhargava, Associate Professor of History at Indraprastha College and co-author of the book.
