What is this walk festival all about?

The Delhi Walk Festival is an annual festival of celebrating & exploring Delhi on foot. It is the only festival of it's kind in India which brings together over 50 different local walk specialists (organizations, academicians and seasoned walker leaders) to conduct walking tours through different neighbourhoods in the city. In 2016 we held two successful editions of this festival.

The festival exclusively brings together special walks led by celebrities. In 2016 some walks were led by Author William Dalrymple, NDTV Journalist Ravish Kumar, Environmentalist Pradip Krishen, Stand-up Comedian Gursimran Khamba (AIB), Author Sam Miller, LGBTQ activist Gautam Bhan and Artist Asim Waqif.

The third edition to be announced soon!

Delhi Walk Festival 2017 Schedule to be announced soon!

How can I come for one for the walks?

It’s as simple as going for a movie. Look for the walk you want to come for and click on BUY TICKET to go to the bookmyshow website and make the payment. Remember to carefully read the walk description, tips, additional costs as well as terms and conditions on the bookmyshow page to get all the information. And you’re set.

What are these hubs?

The Delhi Walk Festival is travels through the city for the several days with most walks focussed around 3 regions. To facilitate this festive feeling, we create hubs with passive programming & refreshments for the festival participants. For all ticket holders, these facilities are free of cost.

The HUBS are centred around:

  • New Delhi / Lutyens Delhi
  • Old Delhi / Chandni Chowk
  • Mehrauli

How are tickets for all walks the same price?

Good question. This incredibly attractive one price for all walks is the special festival price that all the walk organizers have agreed to charge. Most of these walks come at much higher prices, but they are being offered at this price only for the festival. All the more reason you should buy your tickets right away.

What is included in the INR 400 ticket price?

The INR 400 ticket includes the time charges of the walk leader and the processing fees for BookMyShow only. Additionally, your ticket gets you access to the Delhi Walk Festival hubs through the week. The participants have to bear the additional cost of any other expected additional costs during the walk such as food, entry tickets to monuments and transport (if any).

I want more information on the walk I am interested in. Whom can I contact?

The Festival's ticketing partner - BookMyShow has links to all the walk which give you in depth information. Additionally write to contact@delhiwalkfestival.com for any clarifications or call on the festival helpline number.

All tickets to the walk I want to go for appear to be sold out, what can I do?

Too late! Unfortunately, you’ll have to pick another walk from the festival then. You can attend a festival only if you have a valid BookMyShow ticket for the same. You can always contact the specific walk organizer and request them for a walk in the near future.

How many people can I bring against one ticket?

Only one. One tickets enters only one person. Since these are all walks and not performances with a large audiences, it will not be possible to accommodate any other people if they don’t have tickets to the specific walk.

Someone else is also selling the tickets for the festival. Can I buy from them?

No. Only valid tickets from BookMyShow will be honored. Please do not buy the tickets from any other sources.

Children under the age of how many years are allowed for free?

Children under the age of ten are allowed free entry. If you are bringing a child along, please register their names by sending an email to contact@delhiwalkfestival with your walk and ticket details, for us to account for them. For special walks meant mainly for children, there is a special pricing for children from 6 - 17 years of age.

Do walks have any specific requirements and recommendations?

Yes, walks may have specific recommendations for things to wear or carry with you. Please read these very carefully on the BookMyShow page to the walk you’re interested in. The page also mentions the expected additional charges to be borne by the walk participants at the time of the walk, so remember to also keep some cash handy.
