Garden to Table: Foraging in Lodhi Garden

This two-part walk is an exploration of the ‘garden-to-table’ concept. In the first part, the walk offers a foraging experience in the heart of Delhi, at Lodhi Garden. Learn about the variety of edible produce available within the garden and visit the nursery, whose gardeners grow a plethora of herbs and veg with the intention of letting people forage consciously from their garden.

In the second component, we walk to nearby Khan Market, for a tasting put together by Uzair Siddiqui and the chefs of Perch from the produce we forage. The tasting is intended to highlight culinary applications of local ingredients found commonly across Delhi.


Uzair Siddiqui is an architect with a keen interest in food and food systems. He studied at the School of Planning and Architecture in Delhi and has written about food for different platforms. At present he writes sporadically on his personal blog. Siddiqui is a recent gardener and loves to grow his food.

Kush Sethi, studied to be a green chemist from University of York and now heads Digital Outreach for 'Delhi, I Love You'. He has been walking in the Delhi Ridge for over 2 years for a research, while also taking Delhiites for monthly moonlit treks. A passionate gardener, Kush regularly microblogs his experiments about growing food and upcycling.

Tips: Please wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Carry water, a small scissor / pocket cutting tool.

Extra costs: Rs. 500 will have to be paid per person for the meal preparation to Perch Cafe.
