Urban Birding in Lodhi Garden


This walk takes you through Delhi’s much loved Lodhi Garden which is a habitat for various species of birds. A stroll through the wide spread Lodhi Garden will introduce you to the birds that are most comfortable around humans. Explore the chosen haunts of these birds in the garden and talk about their conservation. The walk will cover the definition of an urban bird, recognition techniques and tips on attracting birds into your garden. Above all it will be fun, irreverent, factual and educational

Ishtiyak Ahmad is the Education Officer at Conservation Education Centre which was established jointly by the Government of NCT of Delhi and the BNHS, Asia’s oldest NGO working in the field of nature conservation from last 133 years. At present he is involved in development of medicinal and butterfly gardens and conducting biodiversity surveys. He organises nature walks and events for schools, colleges, families and corporates.

Tips: A dress code for the event is to wear dull colored clothes, adorn a sun cap if required, wear proper field shoes, a water bottle and a notepad to go down important things you learn on the walk. A declaration form will be sign by all the participants before commencement.
