Haveli Tour with Lazeez Mughlai Food


We invite you all to come and spend the evening with us as  at Androon Shehr/walled city of Shahjahanabad. Delhi has served as the capital of several kingdoms(empires) and today it has become one of the greatest blends of Hindu, British and Mughal Architecture. Behind the walls, old phataks, galis and kuchas of the untrodden lanes of Shahjahanabad lie many Havelis (mansions) each having a different story to tell.

The aim of this tour is to feel and experience the tangible and intangible Mughal Heritage and enrich you with Mughal history. The tour will also give you the most delightful food experiences within the old city like Bade Miyan Ki Kheer, Aloo Chat, Chicken Soup, Seekh Kebabs, Rumali Roti, Shahi Tukda with Ice cream, Fry & Roasted Chicken, Biryani, Rooh afza Sharbat (Milk Shake), Jalebi, Faluda and Paan.

Havelis at Ajmere Gate (Haveli Razia Begum), Ballimaran (Mirza Galib Haveli), Chawri Bazar (Haveli Bhanna Mull & Gulzari Mull), Churi Walan (Nawab Galib Dawud Khan Haveli), Matia Mahal (Bakhtawar Khan Haveli), Chitli Qabar (Haveli Azam Khan), Sitaram Bazar (Haveli Nawab Mandu), Kucha Pati Ram (Miscellaneous Havelis).

Walk leader Yasir Anwar has been involved in several Museums, Art Galleries and Art and Cultural Organizations for over 5 years. He worked as Curatorial Assistant at Mehrangarh Museum, Jodhpur, Rajasthan where he carried out research on Museum collection, lead guided tours and also conducted education and outreach programs. Currently he is working as Research Assistant at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts under the project “National Cultural Audiovisual Archives”.

Yasir graduated in History Honors from Zakir Hussain College, University of Delhi and Masters in Archaeology and Heritage Management from Delhi Institute of Heritage Research and Management, Indraprastha University.
