Imagine walking through a UNESCO World Heritage site in Delhi but experiencing it only through your senses of sound, smell and touch. On this exciting walk, the participants will be blindfolded and guided by a visually impaired person to navigate through the Qutub Complex ending at the 1AQ Art Gallery. The walk will be a revelatory experience for empathising with the challenges of the differently abled in everyday urban space and will help build sensitivity for advocating and designing spaces for universal access.
Baldev Gulati is visually impaired but that has not come in the way of his running a flourishing spice manufacturing enterprise in NCR and training differently-abled people to help them get jobs. For several years, he has been working towards the socio-economic inclusion and mainstreaming of people with disabilities in Delhi.
Meeting point: Qutub Minar Ticket Counter
Tips: Wear comfortable walking shoes. A walking stick and a blindfold will be provided to each participant to use.
